Blackjack Availability at Vegas Casinos

There are many games that are available to you in Las Vegas casinos, but blackjack is by far the most popular. It might not be represented by the largest number of tables when compared with something like a particular brand of slot machine, but rest assured that blackjack is absolutely the gambling game of choice in Las Vegas . People go to Las Vegas to play blackjack and for that reason you will find it available in all of the different casinos in Las Vegas . Aside from slot machines, it is quite possible that blackjack is the only game that every single casino in Las Vegas has working around the clock, as there are times during the year and during a particular day when you will not find other popular games like roulette and craps going on but you will still see active tables of blackjack on the casino floor.

The most common type of blackjack you will find in Las Vegas is known as Las Vegas Strip Blackjack. This does not mean that you have to strip while playing the game, but rather that the casinos located on the Las Vegas Strip have their own version of blackjack that for the most part does not go beyond the strip unless it happens to be in digital online form. The reason for this is that the type of blackjack played on the strip has been adjusted so that the odds are more in the house's favour.

Whereas normal blackjack might have a house edge of 1% to 2% attached to it assuming that a person plays perfect strategy during the game, strip blackjack will have a house edge of 3% to 5% attached to it with the same perfect strategy employed. However, the rules of Las Vegas Strip Blackjack have been changed just enough that perfect strategy requires a couple of changes that need to be made from normal perfect strategy with the edge going up to as much as 10% if you play the normal perfect strategy that you have learned. The differences are very subtle and have to do with odds payments, dealer instructions and the number of decks used, but they are more than enough to shift the odds just a couple of percentage points more in the house's favour. While this style of blackjack works great in Las Vegas , most of the casinos outside Vegas still employ the normal blackjack rules that we have all come to know and love.

To a certain degree, this is even true of Las Vegas , as there are some casinos around that will use the normal rules rather than the strip rules. Unfortunately, this has the end result of making the entire situation more confusing for everyone involved and when you add to that the fact that many downtown Vegas casinos have their own Las Vegas Downtown Blackjack variant that is somewhere in between normal and strip blackjack, the entire situation is very confusing indeed. The best thing to do is research the matter ahead of time and find out the blackjack variant played at the casino you are visiting so that you can employ the best strategy possible for that particular game.
