Phantom û The Las Vegas Spectacular

Phantom û The Las Vegas Spectacular

Whether or not the Phantom of the Opera is the greatest operatic production to ever see the light of day is a matter for debate, but what is not a matter for debate is the fact that it is one of the most successful operas of all time. No matter how you measure success, the Phantom of the Opera is in the discussion as being at the top or near it at the very least. Sales, pop culture tributes and spoofs and just about any other measure of success that you can think of, when applied to the operas of the world, will almost always return Phantom of the Opera as being one of the best if not the best. For that reason, it is quite obvious that it had to make its debut in Vegas at one point or another and for that reason nobody was really surprised when the Venetian decided that it was time to sink $40 million into the construction of a new theatre to accommodate the production. What was even more surprising is that the creators decided to make a few changes. When these changes were made, The Las Vegas Spectacular version of Phantom was born.

The Las Vegas version of the Phantom of the Opera has a number of excellent additions to it that people that were fans of the original Phantom storyline will appreciate. At the same time, it takes the Phantom of the Opera and uses it to create some new and original screenplay that people of successive generations will appreciate. There is some theatrical license taken with the work, but at the end of the day people will recognize in it both the old Phantom of the Opera that they know and love and a new way of looking at the Phantom that will thrill and chill them at the same time. Phantom is the best of both worlds and in true Las Vegas form it is put on with a wide array of feasts for the senses. The production takes place in the Phantom Theatre which as previously mentioned is located in the Venetian Resort. The resort’s location is 3355 South Las Vegas Boulevard , placing it right on the Las Vegas Strip.

This is easily the most convenient location for it from the point of view of the tourist because you can combine a visit to Phantom with just about any other Las Vegas activity you might have in mind. Whether it is gambling or visiting one of the famous restaurants in the area, the location of Phantom makes it extremely easy to do.

Ticket prices for Phantom range from $76.10 for seats that are decent to $250 for the best exclusive VIP seats that are available. Overall, this range places Phantom prices both below and above average, so if you think you can stand the cheaper seats the play is most definitely worth it. During regular scheduling there are eight shows a week with a 7 PM show everyday except Sunday and a 9:30 PM show on Saturday and Monday.
